E815 Features Questions

Can anyone let me know more about the menu tools and accessories available on the E815 model...I'm talking about the Address Book, Calendar, Calculator, etc...those kind of tools in the phone itself.

Specifically does the Address Book only store phone numbers or can it store address, city, state, zip info too?

What is the Calendar capable of? Can you program in scheduled tasks that alarm you when due?...like a PDF does? My LG 4400 phone does.

Is there other tools like a restaurant Tips calculator? My LG 4400 does... is why I ask.

I've looked in the User Manual and its doesn't answer any of these questions. Their index doesn't even mention a Calendar or how to use it, yet this web site states this phone does have a Calendar.

I'm having the same questions needing to be addressed.

Also, VZ apparently has had Motorola disable
the 815 from being backed up to a computer. The only way to backup contacts is to subscribe to VZ's "backup assistant" program which costs $5 a month! What a rip off! The phone was designed to provide this feature, but VZ could care less about annoying it's customers. Corporate greed?
VZ told me that they don't have a "kit" to enable backing up to a computer.

Also find it a pain trying to figure how or why one can't list under one contact, his mobile, fax, home, business and email addresses/numbers.
Looks like you'll just have to enter all of the contact info for each number/address. Just think if you have hundreds of cont...

Actually, the cost for backup assistant is 1.99 per month. You can purchase a memory chip from stores such as best buy and radio shack to down load your mp3 and pix files. I don't know if they have the cable and card reader, but I purchased mine from the motorola website. One nice feature about the e815 is that all the accessories from the v710 cross over. For anyone having issues with the external display showing up in black and white, simply reduce the contrast to the 2 setting and it will appear in color.

The phone book stores telephone number, contact name and email address informaiton. The calandar is pretty decent, but I haven't played with it much. The calculator is excellent, but is not capable of scheduling tasks. It's a good, basic calculator.
