V551 Reception loss,anyone else????????
I put my wife's V551(bought at same time as mine) side by side and her phone recieves a full 5 bars(EDGE) while mine is at 1 bar on the basic digital.
Anyone else have had similar problems with this model signal wise?
I'm in Far North Richardson Texas(Dallas) on the Cingular Network.
Go to MENU>SETTINGS>NETWORK>NETWORK SETUP>BAND
Change your band from automatic to the 850/1900 MHz frequencies. Those are the only frequencies used by Cingular in the US anyways. It should reregister with your local tower and eveything should be good to go.
If this does not help then it is more than likely a hardware problem. Go to your Cingular store and have them take a look at it. They will tell you if it needs to be RMA'd for warranty reasons.
Just to note I usually have 3-4 bars inside our home and it's zero signal now,this all started a week ago maybe two.
I've had several disconnects and lotta garbled audio within the last 2 weeks,wonder if it's going belly up like many other V551's I been reading about?
