v710 durability and one quirk that i cant understand

I got a V710 yesterday, and I must day that this is a big step up from the t720 (well what isnt right) I like the phone and my 128mb transflash is in the mail coming tue or wend. Anyways the first thing I worry about is the phone's durability. I am not one of the "insure your phone" persuasion, so i need would like to know how well the phone has held up to your daily dings and bumps you encounter (as i tend to carry mine in my pocket, i dont do the phone holster thing, nor do i put on leather protection)? I would also like to know how solid the keypad is, in that i have a habit of pressing firmly (not really hard but more than normal if you can quntify that, when im in a hurry that is, not all the time) on the keys.

Finally After I picked the phone up i was text-messengig a friend and noticed that the #6 button was not wrking properly (not responding) when i was texting "roxor" (heh yah i was being a bit childish). Today it works just fine, the rep told me at the corporate store that the phone needs to be charged sometimes at least once before it works properly or something. Over all its a great buy and I am eager to get started, but before the inital 15 day return is up and the 30-day exchange (same model). If the phone will hold up to my punishment, and if that key malfaluction was just an anomoly (sp?).

Oh and one more thing has anyone ever dealt with returning a phone for mfg service say to Mororola? How does this work and how fast is the turn over?

Thanks again.
