Sony Ericcson and Motorola?
A buddy of mine sells phones for a place in Philly. He says Sony Erricson is supposed to come out with a phone very similar to Motorolas V3 Razor. Does anyone know anything about that. If you do please share some insight. thanks

Check sonyericsson.com Even if a phone is far from being released, they'll still have it on there. If it's not on there, it doesn't exist... yet. Or it possibly may be a 3G phone which will not be released here.

What do you mean will not be released here? Why won't we get any 3G phones? I thought we were supposed to start getting 3G phones like a year ago. What is the deal?

You can guy a 3G/UMTS phone, but it'll be pretty useless in the US. The US is far from 3G, the closest anyone is is Cingular with EDGE, which is like 2.5G, it's fater than standard GPRS, but not as fast as 3G technology like UMTS. Although Cingular has deployed 3G/UMTS in several cities already, they only city I am 100% positive about is Detroit, Michighan. Cingular is set to start deplying 3G/UMTS nationwide in 2005.

You can use the v800 here with T-Mobile because on top of UMTS, it's also 1900 band compatible. But you won't be able to make any use of the UMTS because T-Mobile hasn't and is far from rolling out with it. Cingular on the other hand has rolled out with it and very few select markets, as far as I've heard. The only market I can be sure about is Detroit.

First tmobile does not even have good gsm, so umts from tmobile is probably not going to happen anytime soon. cingular has umts with only two phones in detroit, san diego, and i think pheonix. Plus the v3 is not that great anyway.

Does sony ericsson K700i supports softwares such as zipman as in Nokia 6600 to install in mobile for file protection and privacy or can it be used with any other softwares for loking some contents in it.

I have the V3, but was completely missinformed about it when i got it. I was told it has video recording, mp3 and several other things, which it doesn't. I now have the chance to get the K700i.....im tempted...what do you think??? would you do it??
