Battery is fine now, text message icon display is not....

I noticed my battery is working fine now. I posted a few days ago whining about the battery life, but after one day of a good amount of use and on standby all night I'm still at 3 full bars on the indicator! This is way better than what I was getting after the first couple of days. I think it may be that it takes a couple a few charging cycles before it kicks in.


Now I have one other problem. I cannot remove the text message envelope off of the display. It was there when I first got the phone and hasn't gone away since. I tried deleting a message, sending a new message and then delete, called text support for their help and it still won't go away. Anybody have this issue? Sprint has offered to send me a new phone, but now that the bat...

I have this same exact problem with the envelope. Everything else seems to work fine. I'm not sure I want a new phone just because of that.

I called techincal support for Sprint and they went through a few steps to see if it would go away. Power phone off, remove battery, send yourself a message, etc. and none of them worked. Then they said to wait 72 hours and they would go through network into my phone somehow and fix it. That never happened. I finally sent it back. I was iwithin the 30 day new phone period, so it was no problem. The new phone works fine.

By chance did you get your phone around Christmas? I got mine the week before. Maybe there is an unknown production issue.

No. I got mine just this month. the phone had battery charging issues as well. I think it was a lemon. The new phone holds the charge longer and the envelope is gone. Do you have the optional insurance on your phone through your carrier? That woudl get you a new phone, otherwise I don't think they cover anything after 30 days. At least Sprint doesn't.

Try giving your carriers techincal support a call and see if they can help. For whatever reason though that damn envelope always on annoyed me. If I'm going to pay that kind of money for a phone they better issue me one that works properly.

Alright this is a known issue with sprint krzr although you need to contact motorola tech support for it to be resolved. You have to perform a master reset on the phone, which they will have to provide you the unlock code to get the program as well you will need you MLC from sprint. Be prepared to redownload anything you have downloaded and to re-enter your address book. The issue is due to the fact that the VoiceSMS msg you have when you first get the phone has to be watched all the way through before it is deleted.
