Well, i got a surprise today. It came on friday (today) instead of monday like fedex said. I am in virginia and it arrived in richmond early so they delivered it. I am so excited and the phone is truely a work of art. The design is amazing and the interface is not too bad. Verizon did not abuse this phone at all. Cant wait to show it off to all my friends. Good luck to all 'yall with getting it soon. I predict since most phones were shipped early yesterday, then many people will get it today aswell. Good luck and enjoy.
Hurry up and post a review already! 🙂 How's the UI? Music player? Camera quality?
write a review for the rest of us !!!!
Would be a great phone, if it weren't (yet again) for Verizon's short-sighted and foolish desire to wring every dime from you for the most simple of things. No matter where I load files on my TF card, the phone won't see it. The TF card is only extra memory for Get-it-now purchases and photos and video taken by this phone. Unlike my old Moto, (and after an hour and a half on the phone with tech support) you cannot email the phone from a computer. I would even be willing to pay Verizon to get my old ringtones and pictures from my V710 to this one, but of course I can't. I've been playing with the phone for only 24 hours and am finding more and more things that are missing- you have to open the phone to access the speakerphone (yo...

Well, it's a given that VZW would limit what you can do with phone esp.
I disagree. What is a given? That the phone can do LESS than what a TF card could do on a V710? Less than what you can do with the V3c, but that's what you EXPECT from Verizon?
Crazy!

I can no longer email a text massage to the phone from a computer, which was a very useful feature.
I don't know too much about it, but when you send yourself a text message from your own computer to your own cell phone, do you send a message back to yourself too???
I can have my office cc me on emails that I need to see when I am out of the office and be able to read it on my phone. A reason not to have a blackberry with me. One of the many little conveniences that's now gone.

I know exactly who crippled it, that does not change the fact that these features are not on what is supposedly the newest and best phone. I also wrote that there is no way for me to PAY Verizon to load my own MP3's on the phone, and that's according to tech support. So far, it's get-it-now or nothing. I can no longer email a text massage to the phone from a computer, which was a very useful feature. I cannot send pictures to PixPlace (errors out). Battery life seems good, but it damned well better be better than a 2 year old phone on it's original battery. Reception is not as good: I missed a phone call in an area that the V710 never dropped a call. You can't access the speakerphone or change the ringsty

OK so what I got outta your post is that basically you cant put pics, mp3s, videos etc. on the phone that you download from your computer like you could with a V710? that does kinda suck especially if you use to it but is that phone really worth 1 star? Are there any better phones then this out right now that can do the aforementioned things? Please share because mine will be at my house on monday and if its really that crappy i'll just leave it in the sealed box and sell it on ebay.
could all of the people that buy phones that have been crippled by a carrier get some type of class action law suite ? motorola made the phone with all these features and the price of the phone is made based on w...

I don't know if there's a phone out there that will do this, but there's a phone in my house right now that will nad that is frankly only incrementally smaller, if a lot cooler looking. So what's the incentive to keep this one? I wouldn't go out and buy a new car that has 2 out of 5 gears locked out and makes me pay a quarter every time I wanted to turn on the radio.
there has to be some thing we customers can do about all the features that the phone carriers screw us out of.it not just verizone but just about all of the cdma carrires lock out features that were built into our phones. 😡

The only thing that comes to my mind right now is to report it to B.B.B. and lets all start complaining about the Verizon UI. Please correct me if I am wrong but isn't this somewhat similar how the whole lawsuit against Verizon and the V710 started?
OK, let's do it again. The Bluetooth is worse than the second release V710.
Look at how the new phones are abandoning carkits now:
