yes its about time motorola stated doing it, samsung A990, and the samsung A970 both can do it also!

This is not the first phone to do this, the Moto E-815 (came out June 2005) supported this as well.

So, do you mean that opening the phone, pressing the side speaker button, like you do when you are on a call....and then closing the phone will allow me to just answer it that way when it rings?

You can also then use the right side key with the phone shut to use voice dialing features to place calls with the phone shut as well.
