Motorola KRZR K1
no high speed data
*DISCLAIMER* I'm just saying what everyone else is going to say....
The unlocked versions should be out by the end of the year (unfortunately they would likely be ones originally destined for foreign markets and would likely feature WCDMA 2100 which would kinda defeat the main purpose of getting a maxx to use in the USA.)
Cingular branded versions might be out by Memorial Day or maybe Labor Day but if you want it for Christmas (06 not 07) a word of caution ... that lump of coal in your stocking most likely isn't a do it yourself diamond kit!
Except for not having one of those designer M's on the case ... I'm having a hard time remembering why I was waiting for a Maxx in the first place.
Either Motorola announces product far earlier in the development cycle to appear more advanced or because they are a US company phonescoop gets their product info far sooner. Samsung's A707, M610, and Blackjack were all available for sale by Cingy and Sprint before phonescoop had info pages for them.
The Maxx doesn't even have its own info page yet ... and that usually precedes Moto's best tech roll outs by 6-9 months.
Everybody I know with a 3G Cingular phone seems to be having a problem with drastically reduced battery life.
I know that CDMA requires the phone to modulate its power output more and more often, and that's what I hear the problem is. But I have a V3c (EVDO) and a V3i, and I do not notice all that much of a battery life difference between the two.
I might've got a SYNC, but for the complaints about battery life.
