Motorola KRZR K1
KRZR K1 Roaming Issues & Motosync
I got internet and MMS working fine.
On the top of my screen though I have the roaming triangle showing all the time, and wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue or is it just me? Any help on this at all?
Also, the KRZR comes with Motosynce-ActiveSync and I have setup all my settings just as I have on past phones but it fails all the time.
Anyone else experienced this or have a solution. Im thinking it might have to do with the roaming thing but Im not sure.
Thanks
I called Cingular and asked if any calls were coming through as roaming and was told she ddn't think so. but that if it was, my national plan would not charge me anyway. Maybe call your provider and make sure your calls have not been roaming just for piece of mind.
It's a bit strange because I'd swear it only showed up after a day of use. I don't think it was there at first.
I also called Cingular and they confirmed nothing unusual was showing in my activity; no roaming.
I did a bit of troubleshooting and discovered that when I swap my SIM card w/ my wifes, the triangle goes away. We have the same new Cingular 64K card so I don't have a reasonable explanation yet of why that matters. I tried it on 3 seperate occassions, on 3 different days and the results were the same. I tried a co-worker's SIM card (also 64K) and the triangle came back. The only constant is both my SIM and my coworker's came out of a TREO 6...

I called MOTO and they said wait for the cingular release, and then I could load the CING. user interface from Cingular,,and all the features would be turned on.
I asked if anything MOTO could do, as I think this is a MOTO issue, not a cingular issues,,and notheing can be done.
So, I will wait till mid nov release,,and deal with it then.

I tried another SIM yesterday, one out of a RAZR v3, roaming triangle immediately came back on.
Now since the time change, my phone always has the wrong time (+1 hr). I tried changing it manually but after a few minutes, it reverts back to the wrong time. According to my manual I should have an "Autoupdate on/off" feature in the Settings/Time & Date menu but I don't. Maybe I'll try to call MOTO on that.
