Ringer ID and Picture ID on KRAZR K1 -import phones- cingular
I ordered my KRAZR from Ebay, batterymania for 349.00 (came with a car charger, but my old RAZR charger worked in the new KRAZR). It shipped and I had it in 3 days after placing my order.
This was a brand new, never been opened KRAZR K1. The KRAZR comes in a cool box, one side slides out to reveal phone, other side opens to the accessories (manuals, charger, etc.). The phone was new, never used as timers were all 0 and the protective tape on the phone faces, screens, and key pad was -factory- tape.
I downloaded my RAZR contacts to the old cingular SIM, and then put that SIM in the KRAZR, powered up, and phone came on, identified Cingular. All was ok and checked out. I made a call and all was great. I then made a la...

Yes I did extensive calls/research. According to the MOTO phone rep, this -user interface- is unique to each cell phone company. The cell phone company instructs the phone on how to communicate on it's network. The MOTO rep said the cell phone companies deal with these unlocked phones all the time, and this user interface is no big deal. I asked MOTO if they had the user interface for this phone, and he said no.
I went to the Cingular store (Kansas City Store), and they confirmed this. They have re programed RAZR's that were elsewhere. I could not get high enough in the Cingular phone tree help desk to confirm this though.

I've always had my numbers in thephone,,,but when I took the V3 & KRZR to Cing.. they transferred the V3 to sim,,and said the numbers in SIM are better,, who cares, but dont know how to transfer SIM to phone.

Select your phonebook and highlight the contact you want to copy to your phone.
Press the left soft button that reads option.
The third select from the bottom reads "copy to phone" By selecting this, you will copy the contact to your phone and be able to edit the contact and add everything you want.
Keep in mind, you can select which view of your phonebook you want; Phone & Sim; Sim on...

This is probably a religious debate, but... contacts in SIM are not better due to SIM card limitations. My Nokia phone will store only 1 number per contact on SIM, which, I assume is the SIM specification limit. Of course, if portability is more important to you, then, storing to SIM is better. Maybe someday the SIM specification will be updated to accomodate...
