How do I text them to myself. I tried to upload a wav file (under 3mb) onto my pix place but it says the bitrate is too large 😢

Yes, it has to be, I believe, less than a meg. I don't know the exact size restrictions. Play around but I know for sure that 3mb is way to big. Your ringtone should not be more than 30 seconds long.

the format for the song has to be in mp3 not wav. also if you make it a mono track instead of stereo it will be smaller. and as stated before it has to be around 30 sec. long. then just text to yourself and save the file to the phone as a ringtone.

Is there somewhere else I need to go to send them to myself? I converted them to mp3's (about 454kb) but it says invalid file when I try to upload to pix place 🙄

First, upload the song to your sd card and store it in your "My Sounds" folder...then scroll down to the "sound" you would like as your ringtone...once highlighted, hit the "ok" button which sould execute "send". Type in your own cell phone number as the number you want to text and send the text with the attached mp3. You will then receive the mp3 and will prompt you if you want to save as a ringtone, say yes and you are good to go.

I tried that, and when I tried to send myself the file, I get a "Message Size Exceeds Limit Impossible to compose. Try another one" error. The file I created is only 204 kb. What should I do now?

all of my ringtone sizes are smaller than 60kb i used software called wav editor by nch, look it up great program. i cut the mp3 to the clip i wanted. then i pasted it into a new file saved as mono. i also put the file at 44kh seeing as you dont need a cd quailty ring tone. play around until you find a decent sound quality.

Here's what I did.
I'm on an Apple computer so it may differ a bit....
1 - find your favorite mp3
2 - trim it down to 30 secs or less
2b - I used an "MP3 Trimmer"program I found on versiontracker.com (it's shareware).
3 - I emailed that mp3 file to my cell...
example [email protected] make sure you put in areacode + 7 digit phone number...no spaces
4 - After receiving the "text message" i opened.
5 - click options
6 - choose the "save as ringtone" option
6b - you can rename your mp3 at this point and set it as your default ring.
that's about it...from memory.
Hope that helps those who don't have an sd card.

The best way to make ring tones is to download the free software Bitpim. Get a data cable or blue tooth for that phone. make as many ring tones as you want. Keep in mind ring tones shouldn't be larger than 20-30 seconds.
Upload to the phone memory. Ring tones for Verizon phone are only stored on the phone only. Not the card.
I have been making mind on all my Verizon phones that I have owned for a couple of years and It works great.
Also you can download from your phone your contact address book for safe keeping.

BITPIM is the way to go, the newest version has been updated for this phone

As a side note: Always format your media card 1st.in YOUR phone before using it.Even though the
ring tones are saved to the phone, pictures,sounds, flix,music etc.can and should be saved to the card.
Keeping the phone's memory low, let the phone software run faster.
