blackberry pearl saying "SOS"

Anybody having problems with the signal indicator changing to "SOS" while in a high signal strength area?

My guess is that you either dropped the phone or somehow the SIM card is loose and not locked in place. Powerdown, take the battery out and make sure the SIM card is locked. Once locked, you should be back up and running.
