Palm Treo 750
No Voice Dial?!?!
Phone Scoop specs this phone as having "Voice Dial".
Not so, at least the one I bought has NO voice dial software. It does have "Voice Command" whereby it announces certain events and callers, but thats all I can find.
Any one know any different?
Do you use "Voice Command" as the software that accomplishes the voice dial function?
Yes, I see what you mean. I have been use to having to program my previous phone by first assigning a voice command to the contact. I guess I have to get use to using the newest technology. I do think that the accuracy of the old way was better, but I can see that it was also limited compared to the voice recognition capability on the treo 750.
Thanks for the insight.
If a site like phonescoop lists voicedial as a feature of the phone, it's completely independent of the carrier, and is an app on the phone..
cingular offers voicedial for a monthly fee, which works on all phones, your contact list is stored in cingular's computers, you call a number ("*7" or something), and speak.
since most phones have the voice program on the phone itself, the voicedial monthly service is pretty much completely useless... tho I think you can use it to dictate text messages...
