Samsung BlackJack SGH-i607
ActiveSync Connection Problem
For the life of me, I cannot get a good connection to my blackjack from my laptop or my desktop at home using activesync.
I know that my wires, phone connection is fine because I can use my mom's laptop and synchronize using activesync.
I've been reading the manual, samsung's website, cingular website to find out more information on disenabling the firewall so that I get a connection. Nothing works. I've even turned off all norton virus programs and turned off the window firewall to see if I get a connection through activesync with no success.
Do you guys know of something that I can try other than disenabling my firewalls.
Thanks,
Dae

saw the new Blackjack
Looks pretty nice but can't decide if I should wait for the new Treos coming out or go with this one. (truthfully)
Had Treos with VZW before and they were all troublesome one way or the other
Tried the E62 when it first came out, looked nice but kind of slow moving along the internet, so I trturned it in 3 days and went back to using my Razr (but that's another story)

3G Blackjack vs Blackberry Pearl...
Question is - is the 3G of the Blackjack a better advantage to have right now? Besides the push email, which the Blackberries do very well (although I think there's similar push email capability, maybe not as slick or fast, on windows mobile 5.0) and they currently are EDGE only not 3G. Not sure if future Blackberries will converge to 3G, and/or Wi-Fi.
Another advantages I might want to consider the Pearl or 8800 over the Blackjack, which I have time to decide during my 30 day trial period?
And apparently there might be a GSM Q coming with both 3G and Wi-Fi? Any news on t...

Few questions using Blackjack?
Anyway, few basic questions:
1. When calling oversees how do I set up a particular country number to be prefixed with calling card number and code?
2. How do I enter pauses in numbers?
3. Blackjack seems to be lacking an automatic keyguard, e.g. if won't lock keys after some non-usage preset time (you have to remember to press red button for 2 sec). The wake-up sequence is also needlessly complicated - press left soft key, then press the "*" key. Is there an app that introduces auto keygu...

Adding music to blackjack
Please help me. Are these apllications & websiters going to work??
few things...
I am wondering following applications and
websites are working fine w/ BJ.
- Skype (Can you make a phone call? I read
one review that you can't. Also phone will
lock up when you try, so you have to remove
a battery for reset.)
- MS Foreign language pack.
It seems MSN messenger and hotmail work fine.
But as MS insists( 😛 ) if I download
language expansion package for pda, can I
see and type properly like in desktop?
(I need spanish/japanese/korean language packs)
- Yahoo webmail.
Generally, I heard that you can't see many
web page now days because more and more
web pages are designed based on broadband
connection. But what's you...

Considering blackjack... question first?
I'm sorry, but this would be my first smartphone and need to know something. I have a Treo 650 and I hate that I can't snooze an appointment, reminder or alarm for a specified amount of time like you can do in Outlook. In other words, when I get a reminder for a task or appt., I want to be able to snooze it for 2 hours or 2 days. Can anyone please tell me if you can do this on the blackjack? Thanks for any info!
