I bought the plastic belt holster for the i760 this past Saturday. At first I was impressed witht eh fit of the phone into the clip and how nicely it snapped right in and how easy it was to snap right out when wanted (secure enough not to snap out unexpectantly).
However, my first disappointment came as I noticed the swivel part is at teh bottom of the phone so the phone then sticks up from my belt like an erect d%#k. I didnt like that, so I tried to swivel it down. It only swivels 45 degrees each way though. So I ended up keeping it pointing backwards, which I also though was akward cause it looked funny being horizontal and off center.
Then the final straw came. After 7 hours of owning the holster, I sat down in my car seat (I am ...

Thanks for the warning! I was set to buy this holster too. You would figure with all the "testing" that Verizon did while postponing this phone for months, they would have gotten the holster right!

Verizon doesn't make accessories themselves, they get most of their accessories from either the manufacturer or one of two main accessory providers which have been authorized by the manufacturer.
I work for the company, and own an i760, and also tried the holster on my phone, and ALSO had it snap into four pieces in my hand. US Wireless or Xentrix most likely make the holster (not sure which).
In the last few years, I've seen some bad batches of plastic used in their holsters. It's a pain for the consumer, having to deal with a faulty accessory, but usually fixed relatively quickly. If it's a design problem, you can be sure the accessory company is working on it by now.
While I will be the first to agree that Verizon should be ...

๐คฃ ๐คฃ I have to agree. I ordered a holster online because I just couldn't get used to the horizontal holster I had ordered. Well it looked a little off when I got it (the swivel part) so I tried to turn it to make it straight, when "SNAP" and the whole thing broke in my hands. I looked at it more closely and realized it was actually broken when I got it - there was no end on the metal thingie holding it onto the clip. So I called VZW and sent it back. Hopefully I'll get my money back soon... ๐ฒ

get that horizontal pouch/case from vzw. works great.

i bought the horizontal case from verizon this week for my i760 and i noticed the weirdest thing ever!!! the case i bought has a magnetic latch so it snaps into place by itself. so when i put the phone into the case (with the screen turned off and i lock it before) and as soon and the magnetic latch closes the screen turns on, and it also unlocks on its own. so when i pull it out i notice that its behaves like when the keyboard is out(in landscape mode) and then it glitches and then goes back the the right orientation.
its really weird so I'm going to go back to verizon and see if i can exchange it for a horizontal case that doesn't have a magnet.
has anyone else noticed this?

I tested mine, it doesn't do that. ๐คจ Did you get yours in september? I wonder if there were any differnces in the earlier released ones.

i just bought mine two days ago.

Can you explain how the holster makes the phone look like an erect d**k?
...
If you keep the phone verticle, it sticks straight up rather then hang down. Reason is that the swivel is mounted not only off center, but is below the mid point in relation to the phone. So it sticks up in the verticle position. And if you choose to swivel to horizontal, its off balance.

Oh ok. Thanks for clearing that up.
...
does it hang to the left or the right ๐

Eric,
Looking forward to any details you can provide for the holster that worked for you that you found at a T-Mobile store (Model, Manufacturer, etc.)...
Thanks!
