I noticed that the calendar only gives you options to schedule on the half hour i.e. 7:00, 7:30, 8:00 and sometimes I want to schedule school conferences and other things that are NOT on the half hour.
Does anyone know of any good software I can add to to the phone to allow custom time increments?
Also does anyone know of a good password program for this phone?

Cool, I was looking at this earlier. So, how do you get it on your phone (sorry, I'm a PDA noob) and do you need to install it on your computer too? Does it plug into Outlook? Thanks...

Huh? Maybe you haven't used a Windows Mobile or PocketPC device before? You can have a custom time for the event. Let's say you want an appointment to start at 1:33 PM...
Open the event editing window (opens for a new appointment, but you can edit an existing appointment instead). Tap the stylus or your finger on the time under either "Starts" or "Ends." This will highlight the time of the appointment. From here, type or tap (on screen keyboard) the exact time, such as 1:33. Make sure you have the AM/PM correct. And there you are, you just have to save the event.

Ooohhh thanks! 😲 No, this is my first Windows Mobile or Pocket PC device.. Very cool. Thanks, I am a total Noob about this stuff.
So how do you install 3rd party software? Download it from the computer? Or is it best to get it directly with your phone? And can you back it up or put it into Outlook?
I'm in particular looking at the Sbp diary And some sort of Wallet Password program.

Lots of fun stuff to learn. Even with a technical background, if I didn't work for VZW I probably wouldn't run into a lot of the workarounds, tips, modifications, and more.
Usually 3rd party stuff will come as a .CAB file all ready for you to install. Other programs get loaded and installed on the computer and push over to the device (in the .CAB format - this is usually found in more of the commercial software packages). Other things simply have to be put in place by the user.
I usually load copies of any .CAB files onto my memory card (or an alternate I carry), that way if a customer wants something I've found I can simply give it to them instead of trying to remember where I went to get it.
