Billable data -- WiFi, EVDO, data plans - CONFUSED??
As suggested in another post re "Disabling Data for Internet", I changed the Data Ntwk # from #777 to "garbage #". Is this EVDO?
Another post implies that using WiFi is NOT billable. Is that correct?
Sooo, with #777 access disabled and if I don't use Text Msgs is there any other way that I could accidentally find billable data on my Vzw invoice? I assume the cell carriers make a bundle when unsuspecting new users "accidentally" run up huge charges.
The broadband access is what Verizon wants you to pay a bunch for. It sounds like you have chosen the "pay as you go" plan. The only data you're planning on using is via wifi, correct?
You as mentioned in Tdrussell's reply, you need to call Verizon and have them block all data to the phone.
Being a smartphone, it's going to try to automatically connect to the internet. If you don't block data, you could get charged per kilobyte to the tune of $15 per meg, if I remember correctly.
