The Apple iPhone is the most innovative phone on the market. Verizon Wireless mobile broadband (combined with voice coverage) is the best cellular phone provider. Reviews on Consumer Reports favors VZW in every major city with the exception of one. EVDO is broadband, EDGE is dial up. Until the two (if ever) decide to partner up, you won't see the BOTTOM LINE "best" combination. Disclaimer: There will always be areas where VZW works, and ATT does not. And areas where ATT works, and VZW does not. Generally speaking, iPhone with VZW service is best combo.

I'd agree. And I think Apple knew this as well, because apparently they approached Verizon first.
But Verizon didn't like Apple's terms, and passed on the deal. They may be regretting that in the long term.
