stereo docks?
if i were to buy a stereo dock (a bose or what ever) would it work with the iphone? I would think being they have the same port at the bottom..but i just wanna check.

I have mine plugged into my Pioneer receiver at night when I go to bed. I use the line out on the dock and charge it at the same time. It works great, and I never get any humm or interference. I've heard that most of the apple units for the ipod are unbearable when it comes to excess noise.

not likely. Iv noticed that most acc. For the iPod don't quite work with the iPhone. They charge but not compatible as far as audio go's

Really? Can you name one? I have several that plug into the dock on the iPhone that work just fine. Bose sound dock, iPod2Car adapter, MOST-bus iPod adapter and a lineout-dock adapter.

i think that what you are saying is that you are placing your iphone in the dock that came with the phone, then you are pluging your other accessories into that.but i bought a car charger/doc unit that you place your phone into. Well their is an audio out that wont work.

No. I'm not using the dock that came with the phone. What charger did you buy that isnt working?

in order to use regular line out speakers for my iphone i had to connect it to the dock that came with the phone and then plug the line in into the back of the dock. i havent yet tried just plugging the phone into a regular dock (bose or what ever) when using speakers i usually get a "this accessory isnt usable with iphone. please turn on airplane mode" but the speakers still worked fine.

As long as it supports line level out it should work with the dock port. Like I said, you'll get the message but it will work. The cheap accessories that depend on the ipod amp wont work with the dock connector but you can use the headphone jack for an amp'ed signal.
