Is it worth "downgrading" to this phone?

I currently have an LG 8600 through Verizon. It gets horrible reception, so I'm looking for a phone with that one important feature and the W385 seems to be the best from the comments.

My reluctance is that I'll be getting a replacement phone that's significantly heavier and bulkier in the pocket, losing the mp3 player and getting lower quality camera and screen - and I'd be extending my contract for 2 years to give up these features. Granted, except for the weight and bulk factors, the other features aren't that important - but it still bothers me that I would be paying to get less. (The upgrade price through Verizon for the W385 is free, so I'm paying by having to extend my contract.)

My other option would be to pay $80 to get the new Chocolate, but that doesn't get as good reviews for reception and battery life as the W385. So I guess I would like to hear from other folks who have "downgraded" to get this phone and have absolutely no regrets.

The ironic thing is that the 8600 was supposed to get good reception too, but I must have gotten a turkey. I traded it in for another 8600 once, and I suspect that the Verizon store replaced it with a phone that someone else had traded in because it didn't come in the original packaging and was no improvement on my first phone. Now the 8600 is discontinued.

Motorolas are known for fantastic reception! But this phone seems to have some real issues with the battery life and it seems to kill batteries real quick. I had 2 phones and like 5 batteries in a matter of 3 months. Verizon ended up switching us to the KRZR and I like it so far. I have to have a motorola because of the reception in my area...I did not even have luck with LG enV.
