Im gonna pass!
After some thought i decided to pass on this phone. Right now i have a Vx8300. ( ihave tried them all besides the KRZR)
All Verizon phones use the same software. So i highlly doubt this phone will be able to do more than my vx8300 UNLESS there is a Software hack for the phone to have Java. In that case i may reconsider.

Umm...Alltel is getting this phone. That means it's only a matter of time until a flash gets leaked to flash this phone back to Synergy UI.
I don't know why you'd keep a VX8300 over this. You KNOW that it's going to have tons better reception and a way better speakerphone/earpiece because it's a Motorola. Motorola's have the BEST reception, speakerphone and earpiece out of any other brand of phone Verizon gets on average. Just look at the V710/E815/V325/V3c/V3m. They have way better reception than any of the LG/Samsung phones.

Well my thing is this If the flash does get leaked...will VCAST work. None of the others have vcast working when hacked.
As far as speakerphone the vx8300 has the best speakerphone period. The motorola e815 had a 1.3mp camera and it was a peice of garbage...but yes reception was better.
But everything else was worse. Including the screen , camera and looks. tought th new razr looks nice in pics.

Who seriously uses VCAST? There is no point to it. Why would I want to watch 30 second clips of Hollywood trash? Maybe one day they'll make VCAST useful, but as for now, IMO, the UI is worth WAY MORE than the ability to watch commercials and movie previews.
As for the VX8300 speakerphone, I'm willing to bet the speakerphone on my E815 is better, even after 2 years of heavy use and being dropped countless times.

And you'll still get all that, only you'll get a better looking phone with better reception and likely a better earpiece and speakerphone.

well heres the thing if i get the razr i wont get the Qwerty keyboard....wouldnt be a big deal if the phone would be different...but being that the software is the same.....kinda makes the phone the same to me..Unless there is a firmware hack to put a different UI on the phone with Java.
Unless i get that ill stay with the U740 i just got. Plus i think the U740 is Hot looking (Black) Great speaker...****ty resolution... but better video quality than my vx8300.
oh and the u740 is smaller than the razr2...but either way i hope its a great phone with hacks, if it is im gonna get it
