Battery Life???
We live in a rural area in Missouri on the fringe of Alltel's service area. I selected the phone because it was reputed to have good call quality and the ability to pull in weak signals. I believe that it does...we actually can use the phone inside our house, whereas with AT&T we could not. However, I got less than 24 hours battery life with the phone. I only made a few brief phone calls, no texting, no internet, and only a couple of photos.
When I talked to my service rep she said that we probably won't get great battery life with any phone because of the area we live in. The battery is being drained because the phone is working to stay connected to the cell tower. She offered to switch out the battery, and with the new battery I seem to get somewhat better service. But after charging the phone yesterday afternoon and leaving it on overnight, a 50 minute phone call drained the battery down to only one bar.
Originally the Alltel rep suggested getting a Blackberry. I did not want one because of the additional monthly charge with a smartphone plan. The next phone she said to try was the KRZR. I currently have a Moto phone (GSM) and have liked it; however the reviews for the KRZR (K1m) on this site have been worse than for the Hue and I'm concerned about its durability.
My questions:
1) Is less than 24 hours battery life typical fort his phone?
2) Am I likely to experience reduced battery life with any phone because of my location?
3) Are there any phones that would have better battery life than the Hue AND still have good signal strength and call quality?
