not insurable
I just placed the order for the htc 8925 and was just about finished when I asked the cust serv rep to put the insurance plan on, she said that the pda phones are not insurable, you cant put insurance on them, that was enough to make me cancel my order right away. These phones are to expensive to not have insurance. Is there another way to get insurance, I really want this phone but not if I cant have insurance on it.

No, none of at&t's pda phones are insuranble. Also, if anyone tells you that you can insure it through homeowners insurance make sure you check into it because my insurance company does not do it at all.

I work for AT&T and there are 2...yes 2 PDA's that are now insurable...one being the bit older Nokia E62 and the newley allowed insured PDA is that Samsung Blackjack. If you try to insure with homeowners or renters insurance check your policy first!

Safeware.com, got my 8525 insured for 600 bucks so if anything happens then they just cut me a check for the cost of a new one. It cost 70 bucks a year for me and I have not had a problem yet.

I am no expert, nor do I claim to be, nor do I work for AT&T, but here is my $0.02:
Those three phones you mention are considered "SmartPhones", not PDAs (and, yes, many people would be hard pressed to distinguish any difference between the two).
To insurance companies, they are two different beasties (so I have been informed by two different homeowners insurance agents, one each from Allstate and State Farm). None of those three above phones have touch screens or sliders (though the 3125 is a clamshell) and they all run a (slightly or very, depending on who you ask) different version of the Windows Mobile Operating System than the 8125, 8525, and now Tilt/8925.
Even though some "SmartPhones" cost close to or as much as PDA phones...

I'm not to excited about paying for the insurance up front, but hey this will be an option for the 8925, who knows when. if you look, you can even insure the iphone.

Safeware doesn't offer coverage on all PDA phones or smartphones. They're only offering it on select phones. I just called them and was told they will be offering it for the 8925, but they don't have the coverage available yet. Probably within the next month or so. My husband wants this phone and I wanted to make sure they would have coverage for it as he can be pretty rough on his phones.
