Yes, if you wish to do it easy, get pdanet google for it, download the trial and see how you like it, I think its 30bux or so if you like it.

Actually uou do not need the teather feature. What you can use is the Internet sharing, the option is on the phone only "hidden"
Found this on a different site and worked for me
On the AT&T Tilt (the successor to the 8525), Internet Sharing was replaced by Wireless Modem in Connections. While Internet Sharing is no longer listed in Connections, it is still present on the device and can be used. Internet Sharing effectively does the same thing as PdaNet.
To locate Internet Sharing:
Go to Start>Programs>Tools>File Explorer.
Open the Windows Folder.
Scroll down until you locate Internet Sharing.
To add a shortcut to an existing folder on your device:
Tap and Hold on Internet Sharing and select Copy from the pop up menu.
