Premium plan required???
The store manager in los angeles informed me a premium plan is required. Lots of sruff flying around on phone scoop regarding required plans. I guess I(we)will have to wait until the phone is released to the stores on November 21st.

Actually nothing new is required.
If you pre-order it online you ARE required to switch over to the Nationwide.
If ou are patient and wait one week, you can pick it up in stores that same day and you don't have to change a thing!
People on this site are RECOMMENDING to at least add V-Cast to your plan if you don't have it already.
But....you DON'T have to do anything or change to anything or do anything you don't want to!

Nationwide plan is not required, you can just add vpak to your existing plan if you like? THis comes form Regional Manager Himself, No Nationwide required, just recommended.

I think the only time the nationwide pla is required is when you pre order online. Thats the only time i know of that its mandatory,
Considering how and where you use your phone it may behoove you to go to the nationwide plan so that all the phone features will work in the regular netowrk and the extnded networks but to me thats up to the user.

ok i work at verizon wireless so i am going to try my best to clear up all misunderstanding on the matter of a price plan change, if you are ordering on line or weather you pick up this phone in the store you will have to again i say you will have to change to the new nationwide plan, its just that simple. and that is a fact for all those who are going to be gettng this plan including myself when it comes out a price plan is going to be needed the voyager will not i repeat will not work on the americas choice plan. i hope i have cleared up this mater thanks you

I work For VZW as well and the regionaL manger said you don't have to switch so you are incorrect, The Nationwide plan is not mandatory, just recommended. So get your facts right, you should as an employee that there are so many inconsistencies that it's scary. You do not have to switch, period!

It is mandatory, I ordered mine today, made me switch. So get your facts straight before Verizon fires you and your regional manager. Verizon as a company should have sent out a memo or something, with all these INCONSISTENCIES. You have to switch PERIOD!

If you ordered one today, you preordered, so of course you had to switch. Verizon's site states that you have to switch for a preorder, it doesn't say that you have to switch for any order.

It has been said many times before all around this site and it should be common knowledge by now, for anyone that can READ PROPERLY, that the only time you have to change plans to the Nationwide is when you PREORDER, which you obviously did....nuff said I think!

when i went online to pre-order i asked the live chat person if i could keep my current text package when i change to the nationwide plan even though it's no longer offered and she said yes, just choose the pay as you go option. fast forward a week and a couple of calls to *611 and, come to find out, my old text package will not even work on the nationwide plan. not only that, but i HAVE to have the PREMiUM nationwide plan in order to activate the voyager!! my old AmChoice package was 900 mins for 59.99 .. on the nationwide plan 900 mins is 99.99!!!! after all of the hype and anticipation, looks like i won't be keeping the voyager 😢

As a member of the Verizon Customer Council, I was able to use our internal Customer Support button to contact a Verizon Rep.
The Rep ended up calling me, so we could discuss the Voyager Pre-Order situation at length.
He stated that everyone at Verizon is fully aware of the initial confusion regarding the Pre-Order process.
As of 12-Noon Nov 9th, an official memo from management was issued that all reps should have access to.
He said the Memo states that "All current Verizon Customers must change to a Nationwide Plan to be able to Pre-Order the Voyager."

If you are a single line user and are buying the voyager with contract extension, then you will be REQUIRED to migrate to nationwide calling plan. No work around for that. Plus you'd be an idiot to pay that much for a phone and not get a premium plan or at least vcast.

So now that we are months later and the dust has settled - what is the bottom line?
Sorry for asking again but I deont think this thread definitively answered the question. If I get the Voyager with my NE2 can I keep the America's Choice plan?
