LG Voyager VX-10000
A quick review
The phone looks excellent, display are detailed and bright. I still can't believe how big the internal display is. It feels like it should be the same size as the 9900 but it's noticeably bigger.
The touch screen requires a little more pressure than i anticipated. I thought it would be more like the touch controls on other mobile phones like the Gleam, K1M, etc. Doesn't take long to get used to. Dialing with the outside touch screen is quite easy with few mistypes. Using the touch screen for the full keyboard was a bit more difficult. pretty similar to the I-phone. buttons are just a bit small.
Internal Keyboard is Excellent! The only quirk I noticed is that the down arrow on the D-pad feels a bit odd. Has a different sound and action compared to the other keys. maybe this is just my individual phone.
Speakerphone is fine, relatively the same as the 9900. Still doesn't work with the flip closed as we expected.
Camera looks great, even took some pictures at night that came out incredible. The big screens make for excellent viewfinders. Cropping pictures is easy with the touch screen.
We still don't have VCastTV in my area so I can't comment on that.
Vcast Video is fun on the external display although the large screens definitely show the limitations of the image quality. Without headphones you're better off using the inside screen with the speakers pointed at you.
I haven't done much voice calling on it yet but it sounded fine when I did. I live in a pretty good signal area so I can't really comment on signal performance.
Browser. Here's where it gets interesting. I'm still figuring things out here. Pages display beautifully but navigating through them can be confusing at times. On the external display its sometimes hard to select a link using your finger just due to the size. I find myself flipping back and forth between the internal and external interfaces to get what I want. I've noticed that on the inside I sometimes can't tell what I have highlighted. Sometimes it's obvious and other times it's a complete mystery. I've mainly been using the full html browser, haven't used the optimized web much yet. I've noticed that most sites think you're using Internet Explorer. Gmail for instance had trouble loading because it tried to display the chat sidebar but was unable. It states that Active X needs to be enabled. It gives an option to display as basic HTML that works fine.
Sorry I can't go into more detail but I gotta get back to work.
Cheers!

Perhaps I haven't looked through all of the postings, but my main question about the phone is whether or not it is a smart phone. Any help is much appreciated.
Yes, the phone happens to be very smart. More than I thought. It is college educated and comes equipped with a bachelors degree. Ironically, the phone is even more smarter than just about all the Verizon Reps.... 😁
Now Premium is not required, again NOT REQUIRED, but you get more functions out of the phone.
Vcast is enuff because the browser runs from the mobile web and is an optimized browser, in plain words is a better browser than mobile web 2.0 meaning graphics for site like myspace and photobucket. And before someone says anything I HAVE GONE to these sites with an actual Voyager, so please save your speculations
