Transferring Ringtones from Micro-SD onto Voyager
Ok, I have read thru numerous pages of threads (several hours worth), both here and on HowardForum.com, but I'm still stuck.
I have hundreds of custom made ringtones on my Micro-SD card from my old phone (Moto E815). On my new LG Voyager, under the -Get It Now- category, I can get them to show up in the -Sounds- category, but I cannot get them over to the phone to use as ringtones. WITHOUT using Bitpim (haven't used it before, and looking for easier way), there has to be a way to do this. For the time being, I only have a Txt/Pix mssg plan on my phone, with no Internet plan (I know, I know ---crazy for not having one with this phone, but watching costs for now). So looking for a solution that might only involve texting, or some easy "...

I just replaced my E815 with the Voyager also. I tried everything I knew about and then just d/loaded BitPim and have my favorite tones on the phone now.
Just install the modem drivers off the VZW CD you got with the phone first 🙂
Really is not that hard and I honestly do not think you can do any harm to the phone.......never heard of BitPim doing that.

Well, as long as the ringtones are not over about ~300kb each, they can be sent via MMS (picture message) to your own phone number. 🙂
When you receive the message and open it up, you will have the option to "save as ringtone" from the right soft-key (options button).
This is a very easy method and it doesn't require BitPim.
For rintones between 300k and 500k, they will send as well, but Verizon's MMS server will convert the file to "aac" format and they will lose a little bit of the quality. 👀
For ringtones over 500kb in size, the only option is to use BitPim, AFAIK.

I don't have my voyager yet but I am hoping I can do this the same way as my old lg8300. Send yourself a pix message and attach the ringtone from your "sounds" folder. When you receive it in your inbox you should be able to click "options" and save as a sound or save as a ringtone. Are you saying that the inbox no longer has that option?

Yes you can send sounds to your phone and use as a ringtone. The trick is to disguise them as MIDI tones. Most of the mp3's will only save in the sound file, but the midi"s will actually save in both the ringtone and sound folder. Also Yahoo emails work the best in order to recieve the sound. AOL will not work at all for sending tones to yourself. To change the mp3 to a midi just send a sound to your own email address as an attatchment, when you open it and are about to save it on your computer just change the mp3 on the end of the "name" of the sound to midi, the mp3 ending shows up automatically when you go to save it.
ex; saxtone.mp3 must be changed to saxtone.mid
Then compose new email add the newly changed tone as an attatchme...
