You could use Audacity to convert any of the Windows sytem .wav sounds to mp3's, text them to yourself, save them as ringtones, and then assign them to the text message alert sound. To sample the files, go to control panel, sounds, and the sounds tab. Select a windows function and then play around with the sounds dropdown list and test button.

audacity is a free sound editing program. It can export.wav files to .mp3 files. Windows has a bunch of .wav files that it uses for all the system dings, bells, and alert sounds. Use audacity to convert your choice to mp3. Text an mp3 to your own number. When you receive it, save it as a ringtone under options. Then, you can associate it with the text alert sound.

I downloaded audacity, but how do you import these sounds?

You'll need the lame encoder dll as described at the Audacity site (just download the dll and point Audacity to it per the instructions at the audacity site). That's what you use to export as MP3. Then in audacity, File, Open and browse to the .wav file. It will just open up. (you might need to increase the volume using the +- slider bar to the left of the sound track, play around if it is too loud or soft after your first try). Then File | Export as MP3, save it, and use bluetooth or another method of your choice to copy the file to the my sounds directory on your pone. In get it now, Music and tones, my sounds, and play the file. Hit options, then send it to your cell phone number. Receive the message and it will play, select options and ...

it didnt work....is there any way to go to like myxertones or something like that to take BLACKBERRY ALERT SOUNDS i dont want window ones i want like the blackberry nice text alerts or something of that sort....thanks for your help !

Well, the method works because I've tried it and it does work. If your problem is that you don't like the windows sounds, well then you can find millions of other other sounds on the web in .wav format or mp3 format that you might like better. Once you find them, the method I describe is one way to get them on a voyager. I think if you want only genuine blackberry alert sounds, you'll need to find a blackberry and some software to pull the sounds out of it. Two different issues.
