LG Voyager VX-10000

aight i dont wanna get ahead of myself here, i know i've been throwin around alotta questions and what not, but im tryin to use bitpim to sync my calender and contacts. i downloaded the link given by bruce fulton{which by the way seems to be the most useful information provider here, thanks bruce} so everything was installed correctly i picked the lg 10000, when i tried to export or inport any files, like calender, pics etc, it said "cannot detect port" could not detect any ports on auto detect, can i be steered in the right direction here?
