Sanyo PRO-700
call screening????
What this Sanyo "call screening" feature does is replace voicemail. People leave messages on your phone instead of the network's voicemail system. It's the same for callers, but because they are connected to your phone, you can hear them leaving the message. If it's someone you want to talk to, you can interrupt the message and pick up the phone.

If you simply don't answer incoming calls, all cell phones have a call log that will tell you who called. You can set the ringer to silent if you don't want to be bothered.

So basically, it's like having a built-in answering machine on your handset?
I'm assuming then that the number of rings could be set to intercept the call before it gets ...

Other phones have caller ID, of course, but that's different.
That is a feature of regular Nextel phones that operate on the iDEN network. The Pro 700 is a pure CDMA phone even though it is branded as having Nextel Direct Connect; they are now using the Nextel name for all push to talk features regardless of network. Any regular Nextel phone except a Blackberry has the feature you want.
it's kinda like VOIP, it uses a data connection, therefore it is only available in rev a markets.(i don't know exactly how many there are but i would guess 14 or so) the neat thing about NDC on sprint is that your dc number is going to be your cell number instead of some other crazy number that no one can remember...143*000999*34.
i am counting the days till i get rid of my 335, i love the ptt but nextel motorolla phones are not very user friendly.
hopefully this service will be available on all rev a devices, sprint customers have no idea the convenience of the ptt function...ready link was a JOKE!
ARE YOU DAFT OR WHAT...?????
IF YOU SIMPLY DONT ANSWER THE CALL, YOU WILL
GET CALLER ID, SO YOU KNOW WHO CALLS, AND SINCE YOU DONT ANSWER THE CALL IT WILL GO
TO VOICE MAIL SHOULD THE CALLER WISH TO LEAVE A
MESSAGE......
YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO PHONE 101 AND LEARN HOW TO USE A PHONE DAFFY.....
GEZZZZZZZZZZZZ.... WHAT A DOPE....
