BB Messenger and PIN

Ok, so I was able to talk to my other friends that have BlackBerrys but I can't seem to communicate with one of them. We both sent each other our PIN and on our Pending contacts it has it that we are both pending. is there any reason why the pending wono't clear? I did it fine with everyone else. The only thing that I can think of is that he doesn't have a data plan with his Pearl. He's got it with T-Mobile. Ok, any help woul dbe really appreciated. Thanks.

Blackberry's website says you can only use BB Messenger with people that are subcribed to one of the Blackberry data plans.That one freind of yours doesn't have the data plan, that's why it's not working.
