Got my 8360 last week!

Greetings to Tropicalisland and all!!

Thanks Tropicalisland (are you there?)....I finally got my 8360 last week. As you recall, I made the difficult decision to trade in my W755 which I really really liked, for the 8360 cause I needed an office quality, 2 way, full-duplex speakerphone. The speakerphone in the 8360 comes very, very, very close to my above expectations. Other than the speakerphone which trumps all other features for me, it's a close call between the W755 and the 8360. I like the form and casing of W755 better than the 8360, but the 8360's speakerphone button is much better co-located with the other buttons (not on side like the W755), the 8360's text messages can be viewed on front display with one-touch, and flip closed, i...

Hi Folks!

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new LG 8360. I've been reading great reviews. Can you explain the voice texting feature?

Thanks! I will be sharing my thoughts on this phone starting Feb 5.

Sure..just go to New Message, then select
"Voice Message" from the list of 4 choices (ie Text, Picture, Text, and Voice), then just speak your message, and enter who you want it sent to from your contact list...works great and it beats having to type out words on the keypad...of course the recipient may prefer text to receiving a Voice text which they'll have to listen to as oppossed to just read.

Thanks HandyGuy,

I was thinking (or hoping) the "voice texting" was along the line of, you speak-the-and- letters-are-typed-for-you logic. But thnk you for the reply.

I am currently using an LG 8350. I recently posted a message about the 8350's inability to display the caller's name or number clearly. Seems when you have the latest "software update" on the phone, the so-called update make the letters and numbers of the caller appear with a new shadowy text - and it's tough to read. I took the phone back twice and they swapped me a "certified rebuilt." However, even the re-builts have the software updates because on the two subsequent swaps, the problem is the same. I'm beginning to think its intentional - it was in my case because as...

Hey Celway

Sorry about what you've gone thru...but no problems with the 8360 as far as reading the text and no shadowy problem on the display...better luck to ya!...Bill

HandyGuy,

I should have done two things ..... use spell check (duh) and I forgot to mention the problem with caller ID numbers/text is on the 8350's FRONT display.

Thanks for reply, Buddy. Should have my new 8360 in my paws within 24 hours.
