T-Mobile Simcard to Cingular(for this phone)
Hello everyone,
Question. My friend is convinced that her T-Mobile simcard will transfer over to Cingular phones(IPhone). A guy she knows is selling his for a nice price and she thinks she can just change the simcard and it will work fine. Im trying to tell her she may not get good service doing so because they're different carriers. What is the real answer to this before she makes a mistake?

The iPhone will work fine with a T-Mobile SIM card if the phone is unlocked, if it is not unlocked she will need to go to http://www.ziphone.org and download the software that will unlock the phone.

Yes, unlock it and if you have any issues with the phone, it becomes a very expensive paper weight. I had a morron T-Mobil rep come into my store with an unlocked Iphone. Screen was not responding but he knew that he was screwed. He asked if he could have it fixed. The answer was YES! with a new two year contract with AT&T on 7/11/08. Jackass!!!!!!

As they said above, she can NOT put the TeamMobile sim card into the iPhone unless its unlocked but to me that is just a big headache.
If you brick the phone or anything happens to it you are screwed. Id just cancel my contract and go with At&t its not like she will be able to use any of the TM features (5 favs) anyway. GL!

Ziphone has NEVER bricked an iphone in fact you can un-brick an iphone that was bricked by other means. 😉
