Android sound/reception issues
I was on the fence about staying with Verizon or buying out my contract and heading over to AT&T and picking up an iphone until I got a early upgrade offer in the mail for the droid, after doing research on it i thought Id give it a shot, so I went ahead and picked the droid up...and I absolutely LOVED it, the gps, the apps, everything! then 2 days ago I got a call in the morning and I was talking while laying in bed, when the person on the other end said that i sounded really far away, I had this problem with the storm a few months back (went through 3 of them) and the problem vanished when i switched to an Omnia. The only place people dont complain about not hearing me is at my computer desk. And when im outdoors I get 2, maybe 3 bars some...

on CDMA networks the number of bars doesnt mean much of anything. If you have 2 that means you can carry on a voice call without a problem. 1 bar works fine too, the problem is when the phone has hardly one bar and has something causing interference in the area that you start to have your call break up.
GSM if you have 2 bars you are probably going to have a bad call, CDMA is fine.
For the "far away" issue, since you have been having it on multiple phones I would suggest for one part to check how you are holding the phone, make sure you know where the speaker is on it (its the little hole in the middle on the bottom of the phone).
