Droid won't stay powered off when charging!!!

I am thinking it has to do with one of the apps I have running on my phone but it will not stay powered off if I have it hooked up to the charger which annoys me. I like to turn my phone off while I am sleeping. Seems like I have to charge it with the phone ON and then turn it off once the charge is completed.

I am not sure if downloading the Advance Task Manager that finds apps that are running and turns them off will work in this situation. I also wanted to download a Twitter app but I noticed that it does the same thing. It won't let the phone go into sleep mode so as of yet I have not installed Twidroid.

Apparently the Droid is always on while charging, that's just the way it is. If it bothers you, turn the ringer off and maybe place it face down so that the message indicator doesn't light up the ceiling at night.

You don't need to place it face down; just tap the on/off switch once and the screen will go to sleep.

Well, in a dark room that little green notification light can be annoying, hence the face-down approach.

Good advice but I'm with cruzitude, its just so much simpler to lay the phone face down instead of changing settings every night and morning. 😁

That's why I usually use the mute function on the unlock screen. "slide" to mute, then when I'm done, another slide to unmute, and everything is back to where it was. Even better: media and alarms are unaffected. The one thing I wish it would do is leave vibrate on, but then again, it wouldn't really be silent if vibrate was on.
