For music, I use Meridian and Pandora. Google Listen is amazing if you listen to podcasts.
I'd like to be able to leave my iPod at home after I get the Droid.
If you listen to mainly music from CD's, you'll want an app called Meridian. This acts like the music player on your ipod. It's not as advanced (no genius playlists, or cover flow) but it plays music just fine, and you can create playlists, etc.
You also want to look at an app called Pandora. It is a program that you can type in the name of your favorite artist or song and it will create a radio station based on your selection. The music is streamed from online, so you're not limited to what you have on your device.

I used Google Listen to get them all.
2. You can plug in a 3.5mm aux-input cable for your cars stereo connection and use the droid to play all your music off the 16gb memory card.
3. You can get a separate memory card reader, pop your memory card into it and simply copy your MP3 files over to it and when you put the card back in the droid it will see all the music on the card.
4. Pandora is a streaming music player that requires you to be on wifi or 3G and if your signal is bad or you get a call the music will stop.

They're not the anti Smurfs so much as they are more like feral smurfs... kinda like Smurfs are Ewoks and the aliens in Pandora are Wookies.
Oh, and the movie is great imo.
For music (but especially video) check out Meridian.
I'm using the new 2.1 player for music which is a lot better than the stock one, but until you get that, Meridian is superior.
