Sanyo Incognito SCP-6760
analysis from the peanut gallery...
It would be good to point out that the sideways clamshell appears to have originated with Nokia's Communicator series (in fact, AT&T, then Cingular, offered one of these), and that the design was not initially popular. Although the Nokia 9300 through Cingular was rated highly here on Phonescoop, and apparently rated on Consumer Reports as well, it was ever an extremely popular device. T-Mobile also offered a sideways clamshell, the Motorola A630, which was a little more popular but less highly rated. Both of these phones preceded Verizon's enV line.
I am worried that Pantech will not produce a good product, as they rarely do, so I expect the Pantech Impact to be poorly rated in the end. The Comeback appears to be decent, but I have found most Samsung's from T-Mobile to have signal issues, so I expect the Comeback to not do well either. The Incognito, however, I have high hopes for. Sanyo seems to produce decent products, and if my good experience with the Sanyo SCP-3100 was any indication, I think the Incognito may become Sprint's successful equivalent to Verizon's enV line, although I doubt that it will be as popular as the enV line if Sprint cannot become more competitive in its market.
Sanyo Incognito is just a return to the sideways clamshell experiment that was kicked off by the Nokia Communicators early in the decade, and finally made succesful in the fruition of the enV devices. By all accounts, the Incognito looks to be a good competitor for the enV line, although I agree with some other posts here that it is a few years late entering the game.
