Hmm...let's see...the v500 has NO voice dialing, NO USB port, NO ringer id, NO ringer profiles, NO pc sync, NO headset jack, NO custom faceplates, NO calculator, and NO alarm...

If you can live without those features then it's the right phone for you. I personally need the USB port so I can transfer files like mp3s to the phone itself...hope this helps...

The only differences between the V500 and V600 are the interchangable faceplates, external situational LED's and video playback. If you want to get really technical, the V600 also has a transflective display while the V500 has a transmissive one. Phonescoop's info on the V500 needs a major update.

the two are almost identical, not as "Lakers21" said. It does have that stuff. The only things missing are video recording, and "situational" lights (where there's a light on the cover that glows different colors for different callers- neat, but not requrired). Other than that, they run on the same hardware. If you're feeling particularly frisky, supposedly you can update the firmware in the v500 with v600 firmware and even add the video ability giving you an identical phone aside from looks (and again, the "situational lighting")

Oh yeah...the screens might be a little different (transflective vs transmissive) and the screen on the outside of the phone is blue backlight vs. reverse for the v600, but again, just appearance.

Doing further research on the v500, I realized that the info on phonescoop is incorrect. It looks like the only difference between the two is the option to download video clips and the situational lighting... 🤭

well, if you're willing to pay it, then it's not too much. 🙂 It's a good phone, from everything I can gather. I ordered one off E-Bay the other day and paid about $250, though it was slightly used, and only comes with the actual phone and battery (no manual or charger, though I bought one of those pretty cheaply on e-bay as well). I had been planning on paying about this much for a v400, but decided to go with the 500 for the price. This was without a contract, though I got a contract through www.Letstalk.com in exchange for 2 T226 phones for free and a $100 rebate ...
