from HF.

"all v600 will be shipped back to germany this friday. Motorola said that its contract it had with att is void since they sold themselves to cingular. Moto said why would they mass produce the v600 to ATT exclusivly, when all att phones will be cingular in the near future. Moto is expected to sell the phones now in the second half of 2004. my friend(who works at moto) said that he now has no clue on when its coming out.

so all u moto reps whould be able to confirm this. This really sucks bad "

Probally not true..but just wanted to see if anyone else here heard this..sorry to add to the rumour mill..

Hmm...this is odd. When I was getting mMode set up at my AT&T store (Somerset Mall, Troy, MI) they called customer service who had all the correct setting for the mMode. Note that the V600's browser setting seem to require more info than previous phones, but customer service had it working in 5 minutes. Also, the reps there (who have always been nice to me) told me today that they were told mid-April. When I asked about why, they stated that the 'software issues' were the culprit. When I mentioned the theory about the Oscars delaying it, one of the reps thought that was possible while the other wasn't really sure. Now, if all Moto V600's were going back, I don't know if AT&T's customer service would have been so willing to help me set ...

You can set up your mmode yourself from the website....just go to http://support.attwireless.com/awswls/support /index.jsp
and there is a button to click for Set up tools. Click that and everything is done over the air.

Actually, that is only HALF correct. Yes, you can set up WAP browsing and MMS via OTA at AT&Ts website, but you CANNOT set up email (as of yesterday) because the v600 was not available as a choice. Furthermore, I DID set everything up OTA first and STILL had no ability to use the WAP browser. The store reps repeated that same process with no success, and it wasn't until we called customer service that we got all the settings we needed. Just a clarification.

No it is not. That is false.

In a bit of a surprise, the Motorola rep called ME yesterday. I had given him a free Polyphonic ringtone site and he told me he had his phone flashed (...hint hint) and that he had lost the bookmark.

During this conversation, he said "By now you've probably heard.." And my response to him was, yea..March sometime? And he acknowledged that. He didn't say anything about the Oscars or anymore software issues.

Whoever started that rumor is so paranoid and full of it. You can't ship a few hundred thousand phones to different parts of the world and then say oops, time to recall! That is not only fiscally impossible, it's logistically impossible as well.

You would have to see a recall on the news like they...
