The rumored (I repeat rumored because I do not want you all to take my word on this) is that the release date is currently set for March 23, 2004.
I've said for awhile that the FCC ID has been the same as the V400. That meant nothing in the scheme of things.
And the merger doesnt mean a thing. Don't overreact folks. It will be a year before anything noteworthy happens.

Thanx man... I know that it is a rumored release date, but what more can you expect... the update is appreciated though. I wonder what they are going to do about the free bluetooth headset deal... one hell of a promotion for their product... way to push something that hasn't been released yet Moto! 😕 Marketing and promoting at it's finest.

I heard the same rumer today. But I was told, not to rely on it untill it actually happens due the too many false dates. In addition, I was told that the exclusive deal with ATTW remains in tact and full force. Moto recognizes that the sale is just on paper now and it could declined by a governmental authority and so the 2 companies remain in competetive mode with business as usual.

"Or why the 600 headsets last". They could last a long time if the phone does not come out. There is always a backup plan. This should have been an indicator in the beginning. March 31 was most likely the release date they thought they could hit, knowing the headsets would be gone in a matter of hours, if that, the day the phone was released.
