🙂 Here's a goofy pic of me and my new Z600 (yes, I'm clothed below the waist for you censors out there!).

I figured I would use my camera for something other than bugging the hell out of my girlfriend in the bathroom while she's trying to take a shower.

This phone has basically everything that the V600 has (except the bulky external antenna and the buggy software), and got it unlocked and unbranded with no "new or renewed contract" for not much more than ATT will be charging for the elusive V600 WITH A 2 YEAR CONTRACT!

I figured I would rather enjoy these bundled technologies before they are obsolete (which they WILL BE IN APRIL - or whenever the V600 is released), as some AMAZING mobile technologies/phones will be coming out in just the next 4-6 months.

SE Z600:

-Bluetooth
-Quality digicam with basic editor
-external display
-SOLID clamshell design with high-quality feel
-65K TFT screen (even better than the T616!)
-basic, intuitive OS
-multiple changeable covers
-32 polyphonic ringtones
-POP3/IMAP
-No guessing and waiting

I've been playing with this all afternoon (my GF just doesn't understand what it is to be a technophile with a gadget fetish), and I LOVE THIS FREAKIN' PHONE! Works seamlessly with my new Sony Ericsson HBH-65 Bluetooth headset! All I have to say is: what V600; Motorola who?

Believe it or not, I used to be a DIEHARD Motorola fan, but customer serviceand word-of-mouth really will "make or break" a company. Motorola's lost me forever and Sony Ericsson's made a believer outta me!

Check this out and you'll never look back...

...and, no I don't work for SE despite my glowing endorsement: I'm a CCNA/MCSE for a security company.

sony z600 looks great but if you are an AT&T Wireless subscriber, you can't take advantage of their 850 spectrum, so your call quality/performance won't be as good as it could be.

how would this effect me as an end user? reception, etc.?

I've been using the Z600 all afternoon and evening and it seems to have better reception, clarity and signal strength than my T616 and Nokia 3650 put together - even worked in my work's building elevator which the others never did!

Please advise.

the majority of AT&T's Spectrum is 850 MHz. Therefore any phone without this frequency could be prone to poor reception and more dropped calls. The SE Z600 only has 1900, so it would fall into this category.

not noticeable so far - or with any of the US user reviews I've scoured about the Z600. I'll take your word for it and assume it's not something that's obvious to the end user. 😁

I've been waiting for someone to pick up this phone. I've been wanting that phone for quite a while. I waited because a friend said to check out the v600. A lot of good that did.

I working on finding the best price for the SE Z600. I've had the t68i from SE and would still be using it except I submerged it in the mud on an outdoor trip (long story).

Would you mind telling where you got it, how much, and what part of the world you're in? Sounds like reception is great where you are. That's consistant with what I've heard of the phone.

I gave up on the v600 and got the SE phone off ebay unlocked. It cost me 315 with shipping, but I was able to sell my Nokia 3650 for $160 on there so it worked out pretty good. Especially since I got the Nokia phone for free off amazon!

The reception is ok. When I use a bluetooth headset its gets a little fuzzy, but for the most part I don't havea ny problems. I don't regret getting the phone. I'm going to keep this phone for a while.

which headset are you using? I'm using the SE HBH-65 with absolutely no problems: all over my apt., outside, even on a commuter bike yesterday with the Z600 buried in my bag.
