😁

was away for the weekend, boy what a flurry of activity. want to thank cassie and everyone else for the positive information.

ordered it from plemix.com. i figured at the $575 price, with a headset, it's going to still come out cheaper than locking myself into a 2yr contract with AT&T or anyone else. now i'm free to come and go.

hopefully i'll see it in the next few days.

Now I have to figure out who's service I want to go with, AT&T or Cingular.

I personally am going to go with AT&T Wireless when Plemix delivers mine even though their customer service sucks right now (long hold times..). The rate is a little better (I'm not impressed with the rollover gimmick) and they have the unlimited m-to-m included now and nights starting at 7p. Plus it'll all be the same within a year anyway so whatever reason will end up being temporary anyway!

that's what i was thinking. of going with AT&T. tho i'm told Cingular is the only one who won't force you into a contract if you bring your own phone. i guess i can always get a "free" phone and sell it on ebay (no interest in keeping a backup phone).

Yeah, I'm not so worried about 1 year contracts. Plus, they'll be combined in 1 year anyway so either way you can't really go wrong. There is only a short-term difference.

I have AT&T, and I have to say I like the roll-over idea. I think it's great. All you have to do is get a plan for 1 month that is over what you need...then switch back down to your normal plan, beause all those minutes roll over there is no chance you will have to pay overage charges (unless you are grossly negligent) as you had those "roll over" minutes as your buffer.

I'm not impressed by the rollover program because Cingular gives you less minutes to start with than AT&T for the price. Example: Cingular Nation 450 Anytime Minutes 5,000 Nights & Weekends for $39.99. For the same price, AT&T National plan on the web says you get 650 minutes with Unlimited Nights and Weekends and Unlimi...

Memillh6, just one thing you're missing. It is easy to roam off of the AT&T network, and when you do, with the National Plan, you WILL incur roaming charges, and also, you cannot get the National Plan with a GSM phone. If you want National coverage with the v600, and pay no roaming charges, you have to get the Digital One Rate Plan, which is $59.99 for 450 minutes or $79.99 for 650 minutes. NEITHER of these plans come with ANY night or weekend minutes. You can, however, pay for night and weekend minutes. If you doubt what I've written, ask around.... Additionally, you have to pay to have your nights start at 7:00. 😳 😎

Let me correct your "misinformation" dear sir as I sell AT&T Wireless every day. Also, I was responding to someone regarding how the rollover is not impressive to "ME." It works for many people...thats why its been so heavily advertised! I was not debating Cingular vs. the AT&T for the general public. Just little ol' me!

#1 You can get what AT&T Wireless considers their "National Plan" with a GSM phone. This goes into the debate, however, of what a national plan is (which has been the subject of recent Cingular commercials). AT&T considers their national plan one in which there are no roaming charges on the AT&T National GSM network which is the same for their TDMA National plan. Go off the network, you pay roaming. None-the-less they cal...

I'm not Scott, but I ordered my phone from Plemix on Monday, it shipped out on Tuesday and I received it Wednesday morning (today). And they wouldn't give me a phone number..just contact from email. And I didn't get the tracking number until 11:55p Tuesday (last night). I did get a confirmation email (without tracking) a few minutes after purchasing it from Plemix and Paypal.

Hi to everyone>
I've been reading this forum since Sunday...and this morning I ordered one from Plemix.com.
I got a confirmation from PayPal, but never heard from Plemix.
I also can't wait to get mine. I'll be using it on the Cingular network. I'm on Long Island, N.Y. and they have really good service here.
Thanks to all of you for all your input, and helping me make this purchase.
Mark
P.S. does anyone know if this will work with "Fast Forward". I have the the motorola base unit, but I heard it may not be compatible.

Well in LI cingular is as good as T Mobile as they share the network. I have ATTW in LI and Turned over my T Mobile account 3 months ago. Had ATTW GSM since Oct 02. As to the fast forward, I don't see why not. The phone uses the same accessories as the V60 series too.

ok.. i ordered my phone tuesday morning. i received my tracking information wednesday night, apparently the phone shipped from hong kong! looking at fedex it is scheduled to be delivered today (thursday). fedex says it's on the truck to my house. they usually hit my place in the late afternoon.

order tuesday morning
tracking information wednesday night
phone delivered thursday afternoon (from hong kong)

not too bad.

no. i did not receive a phone number, nor can i find one anywhere on their site. the only conact point seems to be [email protected].

ok. seems a little scary, but considering the number of people happy with their experience, and the price and contents of the package deal. i'd say this is legit and everyone is happy....

Great and many thanks. I have sent a couple of email nad they have been very responsive. I think they are good to their word and that is why I ordered 2. They also have an OK return policy 14 days from delivered date but with a 15% restocking fee. Expected. Also the shipping on 2 goes under the price of one. I had tried another web site who had a bit lower price but after calculating their shipping charges it ended the same accept they had the HS810 which I already have and I think the 801 will do just as good and it might even feel better based on the pics that I have seen on the web.

Again thanks and that only confirms my thoughts.
