Maybe I shouldn't ask this or maybe it's OK but how can you flash the phone?

Do I need a specific cable?

Instructions on how to flash:

... but instead of getting the "Flash/Flex FILES" from motclub, I'd rather download ONLY the 1DR flash file from v600.cjb.net (under the heading "Firmware Files". Don't use the GI9V... flex file unless you REALLY need AIM - the flash file already includes a flex, and this flex is newer than the GI9V flex.

I'm about to Flash my V600 to get rid of the "GPRS" and asian stuff.

Few Questions:

1) Do I leave my sim card in?
2) Phone stays on?
3) WILL I LOSE ALL FACTORY RINGTONES AND WALLPAPERS?

Let me know before I make the big step

Thanks

1. Yes
2. Yes - the flash/flex software will suspend your phone while it's being reprogrammed
3. Yes, you will lose all 1CR ringtones and wallpapers ... but if you download P2K (assuming you've already installed PST & patches), you can copy those ringtones/wallpapers from your 1CR phone to your computer, and then copy them back when you're at 1DR. Download P2K here:

1. Yes, leave your SIM card in.
2. The phone will turn itself off when complete. Start with it on.
3. Each flash/flex contains ringtones and wallpapers. They will be different when you go from 1CR to 1DR.

The games will also be different.
