Phonebook Entries for callers with same area code as your V600

I figured out a problem-for phone numbers in my own area code I did not enter an area code in their phonebook entry as it seemed superfluous. When a phone call came in from my own area code, the phone would not recognize the phone number as being listed in a category in my phonebook, so the default color would kick in rather than the category color (it also would not show these callers' names unless I included our common area code).
I couldn't find anything in the manual that explains this, but the bottom line seems to be that even though you don't need to manually dial the area code to call someone in your own area code, you do need to enter the area code
in the directory if you want to take advantage of the distinctive lights feature as...
