LOCKED VS UNLOCKED
Other than price, has anyone found that the locked version is better than the unlocked version, or vice versa?

Yes, there is a different. The guy i spoke with said to only way the phone will work correctly is if you get it locked under the company that is selling the phone. I you get an unlocked phone, ATT has things in side for little problems that act up when its unlocked, like downloading ring tones or whatever else. I hope it helped.

I don't know who "the guy" you spoke to was, but I know how reps/employees will talk out of their arse freely (heh, you'll see why below) - but as far as my two cents - if you want the freedom of switching providers and (this is the most important I think) feel technically proficient enough to perform any necessary maintenance on the phone, I would go unlocked. If those don't describle you and you get good ATT service, I'd go with them and save some money on the phone.
I worked for Verizon (CS) about a year ago, so I'm adaquetly familiar with the wireless industry, but I was a little worried about going with the unlocked V600. No problems so far, knock on wood. I haven't changed the firmware yet (nothing has been "malfunctioning" for me a...
