I just got my v600 in store for $199.99 (they matched the current online price) that was on 4/1/04 and now the pice is at $179.99...wich is really awsome cause there is a great deal going on with the phone. but I'm starting to worrie about this phone comming out brand new and beeing so cheap...it makes me think that Motorola and at&t are just trying to get rid of them for some reason.... maybe b/c of the merger?...😕

Keep in mind that the phones cost very little to make. And the carriers make most of their money off of service contracts. That bring said, I think you guys may be right, but I also think that Motorola has a big problem in that the technology in this phone is going to be outdated so fast. With SE and others (motorola probably included) coming out with phones that have CCD mega pixel cameras, larger screens with 100-250k resolution and maybe most importantly having memory card expandability (unlimited video/pics/sounds/music), they really need to get this phone out of the warehouse, because by christmas it will hardly be the latest toy we all want. Just my opinion.

u have to also think that this phone is more marketed towards casual consumers and not business people (who can expense the phone and dont really care about price...like the treo).
they might be looking for big volumes to make their profits.

the price at the online store and i heard that the 174.99 is only untill today(4-5-04). but if you go to any store they will and should honor the online price. you may want to go online and print out the page just to show them...

yeah 249.99 from customer service is how much they offer it for. if u haggle the rep fora lil while u can get at least a 45 dollar credit on the fone which means the total will come to 205.99. Great deal, not worth the wait but this fone is definetlty worth that price!

I called a few times and they would not budge from the $299 for a 1 year service agreement. I guess its all about luck, getting the right CC rep. I quoted her the online price of $174.99 for a 1 year contract and she agreed. Not a bad price for an exisiting custumer without a NBO or FAN account.
