Have terrible reception, any advice?

I live in Omaha, Nebraska and while I like the phone the reception is awful. I typically get 1-2 bars and i've had more dropped calls on this phone than any other i've had.

Are they going to come out with a software upgrade or something to this phone. Is there anyway to get a better antenna or something to boost the signal strenth of the phone? I tried buying the signal enhancer but it didn't work.

lol Yeah those signal-enhancers are such junk.

Is it your first GSM phone, or did you switch carriers recently? I can see that if you just switched from CDMA to GSM or went with a new carrier, the coverage may change.

Also make sure that you're not touching the antenna with your fingers while talking - that can actually affect the signal and make the phone radiate differently.

BTW my girlfriend has a T720, and my V600 typically has slightly better signal reception.

I've been with AT@t for 9 months, I had a Nokia 3650 and a Sony Ericsson z600 before this.

Its not me touching the antenna. I just get bad reception. I live in an apartment by the freeway, so I figured that maybe my apartment has thicker walls for sound insulation. However a friend has the same phone and he has ALOT of dropped calls too.

Any advice would be appreciated. I really like the phone and don't want to get another☹️

I don't suppose there is a way to buy a more powerful antenna?

Actually there are plenty of alternative antennas out there. Supposedly the 3-inch Micro Mag is pretty decent. These people sell them: (Let it be known that I'm not trying to advertise for them or anything, they carry it, but definitely shop around first - they sell it for $40...)
