HS801 vs. Jabra 200/250..

Well I don't have my V600 & HS801 yet (should tomorrow) but I have been using my Jabra 200 for over a year with my T68i. The 250 is the same unit with a longer battery life.

I love my 200, I have never had a problem with it and people I speak with (who are on cell or land lines) both say they would have never known I was on a headset unless I told them. With ONE exception. If I am walking outdoors and the wind is blowing at me it whooooooshes right over the microphone of the headset and it sounds like I'm in a tornado (I've had people ask me that several times). Indoors, in the car, outdoors on a calm day it is perfect. The headset is lightweight, fits comfortably and worked with voice dialing just fine (just be sure to use it to set up y...

Thanks to all...

who wrote about Plemix. I trust your opinions and took the import plunge - should be getting mine in a couple of days.

My contract with AT&T is up in September, so the beauty of it is that I can now go to any carrier in Los Angeles. I've heard good and bad about all of the other GSM carriers in LA and wonder if Tmobile or Cingular has better coverage in Hollywood and surrounding areas.

Any one have any experience with these companies in LA ?

Thanks again for all of the info

V600 Battery Question

What is the capacity of the battery from the V600 you all bought from Plemix? Is it the 500 MAH or the 700 MAH. The part number is SNN5683 and Moto's web site does not know the number. Is there a longer life battery available yet?

how to activate..?

ok.. i've got a question on how to go about activating my phone..?

my goal is to share a "family talk" plan with myself and someone. i'm probably going to go with AT&T because their prices are better (IMHO) than cingular.

i figured on getting 2 phones, because you can't seem to choose just one. the other person gets one of the phones and i use my V600 on the other. i don't have any interest in keeping the other phone so i planned on selling it.

my question is what to do about sim cards? do i take the one out of the second phone? i didn't want to open the box if at all possible. did the plemix phones happen to come with a blank sim card (i doubt it, just asking)? should i stop at my local AT&T store and get a "replacement" from them?...

Anyone else checked out the Extele.com site?

They say there phones are called "sim free." It doesnt really say if they are unlocked and unbranded. But if they are, they have a great deal, $505.81 plus shipping, this includes a HS810 headset and not paying European VAT (value added tax). Im tempted to order, but no 100% sure if I would be getting an OEM phone???

Finally Iam reading something I like!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say this... panga_go_pango and cassie21,

You guys have really helped out a lot in this forum. It had been a while since I didn't really want to even come near this website. There was just too much bull@#$* flying around here, so I congratulate you both on the outstanding display of information.

Both of you guys have brought back to this forum what a forum should really be about people helping out other people in search of accurate infomation. Not trying to scam anybody (DIZDOR)so once again thank you on my behalf

Is Mobile Phone Tools CD-ROM neccesary?

DO i have to have to software to connect the phone to computer, or will the USB cable work just fine by itself? Any advantages to having the software?

The only concern I have...

is this...

From the FAQs on Plemix.com

"Are the phones come with any warranty? Or covered by any quarantee?

NO. There are no warranty or guarantee to your order as all the phones are meant of export. However, we do have a return policy that provides a minimum level of protection to our customers. For more information, please review our Return Policy section."

A question to anyone who has ordered from them - is it worth it to have NO warranty AND no insurance from Lockline -
( AT&T's subcontracted insurance co. ) -just so that you can have this phone a few weeks before release...

Maybe that's a stupid question - I want one of these too - just wanted some opinions...

Thanks for all the info about Plemix...

Just ...

Update from L.A.: A Cingular store ordered me a V600. PS: Cassie still rules

An update to the on-going Cingular situation from the West coast: My Cingular contact has ordered me a V600 for $450. I will wait until I receive it (and believe it) before I post info and my review. I think I need to wait to make any definitive posts anyway (Cassie has way too much heat right now--and rightfully so. She has been a Godsend to many on this sight and I would just be trying to grab part of her much-deserved spotlight.) The $450 price was contingent on a 1-year contract. As someone correctly mentioned earlier today (sorry I forget who) you do not have to sign a contract with Cingular to use their service, but I chose to do it, as I have been a Cingular customer here since there was no Cingular; it was PacBell wireless. This...

Question about Cingular and OEM V600

So if I get an OEM v600 and want to use it on cingular by just signing up and getting a free phone for the SIM card, will they let me sign up for a package to send pics even though I didnt get a picture phone from them??

legit!!!!

ok, so i spoke to an attws emplyee/rep on the atws site. they have a section where you can ask questions and speak to an actual rep online

so anyway this is what was partly said.....

Kevin: what is holding up the v600 from comming to attws? all of the delays are getting overwhealming. also, if and when will the v600 be comming to attws

Sam: we should get it in April, we have been told the delay was about some part they didn't get or get enough of to make a big shipment

What are the differences between the different versions

I am wondering if someone could talk about the differences (if there are any) between the different versions. I think there is a vodaphone, unbranded, aston martin, and I am sure there must be others (O2?).

Sorry to ask, but if someone knows....

And anyone to bought their phone for the AT&T gsm network, can you comment on the process to get your phone to fully integrate with the at&t features.

PLEMIX PURCHASE QUESTION

Hi, for those who purchased the phone through plemix.com, have there been any noticeable software issues on the phone? Does it have the newer screen, newer firmware? Will Motorola replace the phone under the manufacturer's warranty if there are any issues? Thanks!

Hey Cassie, question from a fellow Chicagoan

Hey there Cassie, thanks for all the great info. I want this phone and am sick of waiting for it, so I am gonna order it like you did. But i am a current sprint customer and I cannot decide if i should go with ATT or cingular. Seems like cingular has the better deals plan wise. Have you any thoughts? Were you an ATT subscriber already? I know alot of ATT subscribers in chicagoland, but no cingular subscribers, kinda makes me wonder....

FIRMWARE

I am about to get an OEM v600, and I am hoping to get one of the latest batches.

I am assuming that the firmware is one way to find out what batch it is from.

The people at plemix.com said they don't know how to find out which firmware it is on the phone, but that they will tell me how if I let them know how to get that information.

I have two questions:

1) How do I find out the firmware on the V600?

2) What are the different firmware numbers out there and what is the latest firmware?
