Had To Have Mine Replaced

DMZ

Oct 10, 2011, 2:22 PM
Got my Droid Charge back in May a week after it came out. Last week, the display started showing faint horizontal lines top to bottom. Verizon sent me another one.

After HOURS of trying to transfer everything, I realized backing up the phone's folders to your PC and then back via the USB cable is not enough. After several calls to tech support, I finally got a Verizon Tech on the phone that knew WTF he was doing. In order to SUCCESSFULLY backup and reinstall all your apps, call log, and text messages on the replacement phone, you have to download and install SMS Backup AND App Backup & Restore from the Market ON BOTH PHONES. Run both programs on the old phone to save everything to the SD Card. Then once the SD card is in the new phone, run the programs again and Restore. Apps have to be restored & installed one at a time. but in the end it's simple and IT WORKS!

If you need to transfer over your Angry Bird score and level, you'll also need to download and install AngryBirdBackup and proceed like the other 2 programs as well.
