Disable Missed Text Message Alert

I just switched to an m370 after my previous m330 died beyond repair. I'm very frustrated by one "feature" of this new phone. I don't want it to make *any* noise when I get a text message, so I have the "Ringer" for "Messages" set to "No Ringer." In fact there is noise when the message comes in, but if I don't happen to use the phone for a minutes then after a while the phone will beep twice to indicate the missed message.

I've searched menus on phone, searched the manual, spent several lengthy sessions on the phone with Sprint tech support, and visited Sprint store, and Googled (the last is what led me to this forum!) -- I'm fairly well convinced that it's just not possible to turn off those beeps. But I'm posting here hoping that maybe, just maybe, someone else has run into the problem and has figured out how to do it.

I believe the best I can do is to turn the ringer volume down or turn the phone off at night or during meetings when I don't want to hear the beeps, but that's not optimal for me (as I would still like to respond to to the rare voice calls that come in those times)

Also, like you, I called both SPRINT and SAMSUNG technical support. I talked with very nice people, but because this alleged feature is not even described in the manual for this phone, they did not know what I was talking about or how to help me turn it off.
